ANNOUNCEMENT - REED CITY

Reed City will be my first project release as an author, and I have all the expected feelings about it. I’m excited to finally be putting a story out into the void, I’m nervous that I’ve written a book only I will enjoy and at the same time am completely okay with that, but mostly, I’m glad that this is the book I’m announcing. There were a lot of projects that could’ve been the first release, and for a while I wasn’t sure which one to lead with. I chose Reed City, and now that we’re here, I’m very happy about that decision.

This is a story that’s lived with me for a few years. It actually started as two unrelated stories: a short fiction about gangsters in a graveyard, and an even shorter one about two aging friends discussing the world in an empty diner. Those were the kernels that grew into this book, and looking back, they contained all its base elements. There are a lot of things this book is about: power, rebellion, love, legacy, but the main thing that tied those two short stories together, that brought Reed City to life, was consequence. How the consequences of everything we say or do today (or don’t say or do) reverberate deeply through the world into tomorrow and beyond. How everything around us is an after, formed by the fallout of before. And whether we find ourselves in paradise or prison, where we are now was built. By us, by those around us, and by all those that preceeded us.

So, I share this story now, and kickoff this creative journey, in the hope that it echoes into tomorrow and plays its tiny little part in the shape of things to come.

Reed City releases March 24th, 2026, in both paperback and ebook.
